The Electro Voice 664 microphone shown here is a classic. It dates from the '50s
and '60s. Though typically chrome, they were also sold in other shades, including
gold plated. When this example came into the shop it was an olive drab green.
Perhaps former military.
Unfortunately, the paint had deteriorated substantially and the base metal was showing signs of pitting. The owner wanted it a semi flat black and requested a push to talk switch be installed in the base.
